Netflix has revealed to Gadgets 360 that it is launching “Southverse,” a new dedicated hub for South Indian content, for its subscribers in India. Southverse aims to bring together movies and series from the southern regions of India in one place. Netflix stated that users can access Southverse directly from the homepage, where content is categorized by language, genre, stars, and mood. The hub features theatrical releases such as Peddi, Blast, Amaran, Maharaja, Court: State vs A Nobody, and Lucky Bhaskar, alongside Netflix original series.
Netflix’s New South Indian Content Hub
Southverse serves primarily as a content discovery feature for Netflix. The streaming platform designed it to simplify the process of finding movies and series from various parts of South India. Instead of searching separately for titles in Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam, users can easily locate them through this dedicated interface on the homepage.
According to the company, the content library has been categorized based on various discovery points—including language, genre, stars, and mood—allowing users to browse the catalog according to their viewing preferences without needing to know the specific titles beforehand.
The “Southverse” collection features recently released titles such as Peddi, Blast, Amaran, Maharaja, Court: State vs A Nobody, and Lucky Bhaskar. It also includes several Netflix originals, such as the recent premieres Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, Made in Korea, and Super Subbu. Netflix notes that Made in Korea is the first South Indian film to top its global Top 10 non-English films list, while Super Subbu marks the platform’s first Telugu-language original.
The lineup is expected to expand in the future to include more stories and content from the region.
According to Netflix, South Indian content is performing strongly on the platform. In 2025, at least one film from the region has appeared on the India Top 10 list every week. Last year, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films featured on the global Top 10 non-English films list for 39 out of 52 weeks, and South Indian titles also cracked the Top 10 lists in 59 countries and regions outside of India.
Netflix users in India can now watch the show via the Netflix homepage or by searching for “Southverse” within the streaming app.
